Transkei, a type of psilocybe cubensis, was first identified in 2002 along the Transkei coast in South Africa. Sometimes, it’s referred to as South African Transkei (SAT), or simply as Transkei Cubensis. To our understanding, these are the initial species of hallucinogenic mushrooms found on the African continent.
Typically, Transkei magic mushrooms are medium-sized, with robust stems. Their growth phase is characterized by caps that are predominantly orange and brown, which often lighten in color as they mature. Known for offering a more visually stimulating experience than other strains, Transkei mushrooms might not be the best choice for beginners. Such visually stimulating strains tend to offer an experience rich in light tracers, light sensitivity, and extensive geometric pattern visualizations.
Within 10 to 30 minutes of consuming Transkei shrooms, expect to experience an uplifted mood filled with euphoria and exhilaration. The intensity of visual enhancements will vary depending on the dosage, ranging from mild to intense. You might perceive things as if they’re breathing, feel a heightened sense of life in your surroundings, and find yourself engaged in introspective thinking. Music and art might seem different, invoking a deeper appreciation and possibly making you feel a more personal connection to these forms of expression. The usual museum dose (0.5-1.5g) and moderate dose (2-3.5g) should result in a trip lasting between 3 and 6 hours. For more information, please refer to our FAQ section.
